Schedule Posterous Posts With SocialOomph

SocialOomph, previously known as TweetLater, is a productivity tool that I use on a regular basis.  It allows me to save and control my tweets with ease.  Since I started using it there have been many useful tools added, including the ability to schedule blog posts for WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger as well as any blogging platform that supports APIs for Atom Post, metaWeblog and Moveable Type.

SocialOomph has also recently implemented a free default URL shortener (dld.bz) and allows all users to review statistics.  One less step in the process of tweeting.

Some features at SocialOomph are for Professional users, but if you are serious about your social networks or a professional blogger it is well worth being able to organize and distribute postings, RSS feeds and status messages in one place.

Since I've registered with Twitter there have been many related websites I've taken for a spin.  SocialOomph is one that I've used almost since the beginning.  The interface is user friendly and I've never had a problem.  I highly recommend even just the basic features as a way of boosting productivity. Visit their front page for the very long list of tools available, many free, many more available to SocialOomph Professional users.

Take the Mystery Out of Car Repair with RepairPal

RepairPal is a free website dedicated to making life easier for the automobile owner.  The average car owner knows the dread of finding a repair shopping and fretting over the cost, fearing the worst and many times not knowing what to expect.  With this all-in-one site owners can find repair shops, get estimates, keep a service record and look up information on many aspects of car repair and maintenance in the encyclopedia.

For instance, if you live in the Houston, Texas area, you can just search for a repair shop by model of your car and be provided with an extensive list and a Google map.  Shops are rated by customers like you with a 5 star system.  An example of a highly rated shop in that area that repairs Buicks would be RMS Auto Care, which has been rated twice.  Affiliations such as AAA are provided and a favored shop can be saved if you signed up for a free account.

If you are interested in specific information about a car, for example an 1999 Acura TL, reviews and ratings are provided as well as common problems and recalls, all in an organized tabbed page.  This particular car has been rated 16 times in the past couple years.  There are several electrical recalls and issues on airbags.

Interested in learning about engine oil or changing a filter?  You will find what you need in the encyclopedia.  If you don't find all the information you need, there is a convenient button to ask a question.  There are related issues that may be helpful listed at the bottom of the page.  In this instance engine temperature warning light and oil change indicator light information suggested pages as well as several others are listed.

Ever wonder what's up with replacing brake rotors or disc brakes and why they cost so much on some cars?  Properly working brakes are essential to safe driving.  With the encyclopedia you can start your journey in becoming educated about the workings of your car. There are other parts that may have to be replaced, such as the bearings.  Brakes should always be replaced in sets and other problems can be determined by a technician taking a good look at brake pads or shoes, such as uneven wear.

Owning an automobile doesn't have to be as stressful as it is.  Keeping records organized and sharing information about repair shops and specific models of cars can make a world of difference.  Logging in to RepairPal to get an estimate can help prepare you for your trip to the shop. The best part is that all these services are free.

Past Times Requiring Patience Prove Rewarding

We've been able to bond as a church and as a community, and we've made new friends.

-Larry Sunday, church member

For a church in Mills River, North Carolina, a common past time was used to wash away the Winter blues.  Taking longer than expected, it turned into a lesson in patience with rewarding results.

Barbara Blake of the Citizens-Times.com website of Ashville writes:
The congregation of Mills River Presbyterian Church has become the first group in North Carolina and the first church in the country to complete the world's largest commercially made jigsaw puzzle.

For the group of over 100 members of the congregation at the church, the goal was to take the challenge on The World's Largest Jigsaw Puzzle website and complete the 24,000 piece puzzle with artwork by Royce B. McClure entitled "LIFE: The Great Challenge". Dozens of groups, as well as solitary people, have already submitted their application for inclusion in the hall of fame, which features categories of nations from around the world.

The original goal was for the team to complete the puzzle in four days on a non-stop schedule.  When it became clear it would take much longer, work continued at a more leisurely pace.  It was finally completed after two weeks and is the first puzzle of its kind to be completed in North Carolina.

Although group projects can have the added benefit of fellowship and learning to be patient with others, some challenges such as this giant puzzle can be accepted by individuals as well. Solitary projects that take time but have a definite end can help occupy the mind, diverting attention away from stressful thoughts.

The goal must not be influenced by the outside, but be something that brings joy and contentment from within as the reward. Expectations such as hoping for money by selling the painting you have been diligently working on, or the approval of another person when they see what you have accomplished, will diminish the joy as you progress and hinder your sense of accomplishment in the end. If you have an expected reaction from the outside world for doing something that was only meant to improve yourself mentally, it may bring you to disappointment, rather than a deep sense of spiritual peace.

The best projects are those that require little money to get the job done.  Being able and committed to "donating" a small percentage of each check to a project will ensure you have that happy place to return to that you have grown accustomed to.  It does you no good to get into a complex project, and be forced to think to yourself "I can't do anything until I can buy..." Something that once was a stress reliever can turn into a cause of stress.

Supplies and parts should be readily available as well. Collecting a set of rare coins, such as every year of every dime ever made in the United States would be enjoyable from the numismatist's point of view, but a few of them may be hard to come by and the goal may not be completed for a long time. If you are looking for a project that can be turned to on a regular basis, quilting or making a boat in a bottle might be more appropriate.

Patience will get you to your reachable goal, but planning ahead will make it more reliable as a sanctuary for your mind.
